***cafe con libros community, I'm having a baby! as the sole visionary and manager of this community space, i am feeling the need seek balance, ground, and prepare for the upcoming seismic shift that motherhood is.  with that said, i have decided the best course of action is to suspend scheduling of all new events for the months of june and july 2018.  i apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our valued community and hope you will continue to support cafe con libros. -kqd ***

cafe con libros is a feminist community bookstore catering to folks who are book lovers, coffee aficionados, or both.  we aim to provide space for anyone seeking a community of readers and thinkers and, to spread the love of reading as a source of healing and joy.

cafe con libros will also provide community programming to include a book club, book fairs for children and young adults, prison outreach, and when possible, host local artist.

in solidarity with our community, we wish to open our space for use in collaboration with community members in service of broader, collective endeavors.  beginning 1 august 2018, the cost for the use of the space is $50 for two hours.  this contribution is non-refundable.  in addition, we ask that organizers encourage participants to patronize the community space by purchasing coffee, pastries, and/or books to ensure sustainability for the long-haul.

lovingly,

kqd & rfc.

Yoruba Mythology: The God and Goddess of Yorubaland Coloring Book Launch Party

Yoruba Mythology Coloring Book: The Gods and Goddesses of Yorubaland is a therapeutic art form to spark the discovery of an African culture of spirituality, while guiding discussions among parents, children, and other adults.

Images in the 24-page soft cover coloring book reflect and celebrate people of  darker hues, kinky hair, wide hips, thick bodies and full lips.

Please join us for the launch party.  This event is open and free to the public.  The author will be present and available for signing.  Wine and cheese will be provided over live music.

We look forward to being in community with you.
