About the Book: ¡Ándale Prieta! is a coming-of-age memoir of a border-raised Latina with a fresh and immediate voice. In the book, Yasmín processes the grief of her grandmother's death by telling the story of her Ita and the struggles of her non-traditional family of tough Mexican American women, including abusive relationships, divorce, absent parents, breast cancer, and alcohol abuse.
