Our Community Agreements.

Thank for choosing us to fulfill your bookish needs.  Cafe con Libros is a small, ambitious and committed team.  However, despite our passion, we are unable to answer all your questions.  We hope that this page along with the frequently asked questions, provides the insight and direction you are seeking.

Refunds: IndieLite & Bookshop.

​

We're very sorry to hear that you are requesting a refund.  While we want to honor each request, there are limitations on doing so.

​

First, the physical store does not fulfill direct to home book orders.  We outsource 90% of our direct to home delivery to Ingram; the nation's top book distributor.  In addition, unless otherwise requested, the book will ship via USPS, media mail. 

 

On average, media mail can take about 7-10 days. 

​

Once the order is placed and processed, we are unable to cancel.  Ingram has an immediate release policy which means if the book is available it is sent to a distribution center for shipping right away.  At this stage of the process, cancellations are not permitted.  This can happen in a matter of minutes after placing the order.

​

Again, while we wish to honor your request, it is often not possible and honestly, not cost effective for a small business of our stature.  

​

If you purchased a book on our Bookshop.org page, please find their return and cancellation policies.  Cafe con Libros does not handle any returns or cancellations for books purchased via Bookshop.org. However, we are willing to support if necessary.

​

Stolen Mail:

​

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds on uninsured orders that were delivered and subsequently stolen.  We offer two shipping options: 1. Uninsured Media Mail and 2. Insured Media Mail.  We encourage you to choose the option that is right for you and your community circumstances.

​

If your community is vulnerable to stolen packages, we encourage you to chose "insured media mail."  This will allow us to process a claim on your behalf and replace the book free of charge.

​

Returns & Exchanges:

​

We get it.  Life changed and so did your needs.  No problem.  You're eligible to return your unused, new item within 14 days with a valid receipt.  We are happy to offer a complete refund, exchange or gift card. 

​

For damaged merchandise, please provide a picture and full description of the damaged item.  We will assess the request and render a fair and equitable solution in the form of a full refund, exchange and/or gift card.

​

Coffee Pick-Up:

​

You made a good choice; Irving Farm coffee is delish!  If you place an order for pick-up, we advise that you pick up as soon as possible. We order the coffee to your specification.  Orders arrives once per week freshly roasted and personalized.  As great as it is, the coffee begins to lose its potency after10 days.

If you are not able to pick up and do not contact us, unfortunately we are not able to replace the order.

Book Pick-Up:

​

We are thrilled to be able to offer "in-store book order" service for books that are out of stock or we do not carry and a general pick-up option via our Indielite page.  Our policy is to hold the book for 30 days.  Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate book pick-ups beyond that timeline.  If you need an extension, please email wecare@cafeconlibrosbk.com. Otherwise, you can expect to receive a reminder email.  If we do not receive a response within 48hrs, we will process and email an e-gift certificate for the book cost.

Event Cancellation and Refund Policy:

​

Thank you for registering for one of our events!  We love hosting you!  Our general admission event tickets are non-refundable if requested less than 72hrs prior to the event and always non-transferable . We also understand that a lot of time passes between buying a ticket and the actual date.  If you foresee a conflict, please reach out as soon as possible so that we may accommodate your request and release the ticket to the community with sufficient time for it to sell.

In the case that your ticket is a bundle (general admission + signed book), the policy remains the same for the general admission ticket.  We will also offer a 100% refund on the book.
