About the Event
About Monique Clesca
Monique Clesca has led two extraordinarily fulfilling lives--first, as an activist and second, as a journalist. As an advocate, she worked in the field of international development, advocating for children's and women’s rights, and has participated in high-level policy issues linked to Haiti and Africa. She has been a long-time volunteer of a women-led organization that provides holistic support to girls and women who have suffered domestic and sexual violence.
Since her retirement in 2016, Monique has written op-eds and think pieces for prestigious print media outlets, including The New York Times and The Miami Herald. She has been interviewed by CBS Sunday Morning, CNN, BBC, MSNBC, and many others as a representative of the Montana Accord, where she is a sought-after expert on political and social issues relating to Haiti. Silence and Resistance is her third book.
